Fiction 

Wake Up – María José Toledo Abán

María José Toledo Abán was born and raised in Mexico. She came to the UK to study creative writing at Bath Spa University with the dream of one day becoming a well-known published author. 

Interlude – Marilyn Ama 

Marilyn is pursuing her MA in Professional Writing at the University of Westminster. She is passionate about incorporating real life, shared experiences in her fiction writing and seeks to fine-tune these skills during her postgraduate career. 

My Own Death – Nemeche Blake 

Nemeche is a published author and a passionate creator. Her newest ongoing work is her first chapbook Foreigner, following her life back home in Florida and her travels to South Korea, Japan, and now London. Her work can best be described as poetic catharsis. 

Two Dead Men Speaking – Elisabeth Connell 

Elisabeth is a reader, writer, and student of literature. She currently lives in London and is studying toward her MA in Professional Writing. Originally from Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, she loves to travel, talk to new people, and, (as all artists do), observe. 

10 Hours – Allison Galinsky 

Allison Galinsky is a graduate of Mississippi State University and teaches high school English. Galinsky finds inspiration from early American and British literature. Galinsky enjoys reading, writing, and teaching her students the importance of how literature applies to today’s world.

Fade To Black – Nel Herche

Once Upon a Night – Zarina Isakhodjaeva 

Zarina was born and raised in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. She moved to London to pursue her childhood dream of becoming a writer. She mainly writes fiction with a focus on fantasy, while also staying engrossed in nonfiction research and historical novels. 

Evenfall’s Blight – Kiti Misha 

Treader of the thin line where worlds collide between fantasy and reality, past and present, light and dark, Kiti is a writer and avid enthusiast of nature and mythology. She hopes to give a voice to the small creatures of the world which go unnoticed in modernity.

The Call – Iain Pinn

Iain Pinn is a short story writer and poet of very limited repute. He lives in South East London along with his increasingly despairing wife.

Samuel’s Lake – Jack Potter 

Jack Potter has always been interested in creative writing. He’s currently a student at a London-based university studying Creative Writing and English, which allows him to expand his horizons and prepare for the future ahead. 

New Year’s Resolution – Eugenia Sestini 

Eugenia is a multilingual writer, language teacher, and proofreader interested in cultural identity, gender studies, and family stories. She plays piano and tennis, reads, and makes the most of London’s theatre scene. 

Bonn(ennui)t – Roberta Shavenko 

Born and raised in Italy, Roberta moved to London at 18 to pursue study in Illustration and Visual Communication at the University of Westminster. Roberta started her MA in Professional Writing this year and would like to combine both writing and illustration in the future.

Hope – Illiya Urazova 

Illiya completed her BA in English Language Teaching at Eastern Mediterranean University with a distinction in a Creative Writing MA. As a fiction writer, she’s deeply inspired by classic literature and can’t resist retelling different great stories in her own imaginative way. 

Fully Clothed – Luwan Wang 

Luwan is a Chinese writer living in London, pursuing an MA in Creative Writing at the University of Westminster. She enjoys writing fiction and is interested in learning more about scriptwriting in the future.

Nonfiction 

How Beautiful Can The Night Be? – Magdalene Bahago 

Magdalene is a writer and author passionate about crafting compelling narratives that resonate with readers. With a fervent love for fiction and nonfiction, she immerses herself in the art of words, constantly seeking inspiration from life’s myriad of experiences.

You Beloved, Me – Henrieta Galdunova 

Henrieta is a student pursuing her MA in Professional Writing with a passion for fiction, specifically fantasy. She enjoys reading and writing all types of fiction and nonfiction. She’s currently pursuing her childhood dream of writing a book. 

A Night Fit For A Princess – Amira Mohamed

Amira is pursuing her MA in Professional Writing at the University of Westminster. She’s a content creator on TikTok with a platform focusing on hyper-feminine fashion and lifestyle. She enjoys writing creatively in her spare time and has a passion for Regency era novels. 

Overnight Shift – Valerie Paul 

Valerie is a Twin Cities transplant in Glasgow, studying Library Science and learning about being away from home. They rock climb, cross-stitch, travel, and pick up new hobbies with their ever-dwindling spare time. 

Watching a National Fall Through a TV – Paula Stäbler 

Paula is a German writer living in London. With interests in politics, art, and love, her writing is often inspired by anger and tenderness. Previous publications can be found in Honeyfire Literature Magazine, GoldDust Magazine, and Wells Street Journal

Itchiness Lurking In the Night – Pan Yuxuan 

Pan Yuxuan is an international student at the University of Westminster from China. Pan enjoys reading George Orwell. She loves to write her own stories about love, pain, family, and disease. 

Poetry

Surya – Rajani Adhikari

Rajani is a postgraduate student pursuing an MA in Professional Writing. She has a background in history and English literature and is especially focused on writing about post-colonialism and biracial identities.

Night, Literally – Sylvia Afia Amanimaa Amponsah

Sylvia is a native of Ghana and a graduate of the University of Education, where she earned a BA degree in Twi Education. Sylvia was selected to receive the prestigious British Council GREAT Scholarship in 2023, which enabled her to pursue her postgraduate degree at the University of Westminster. 

Coherence of The Dark – Lavi Bachchis  

Lavi is a multifaceted professional with expertise in editing, research, and business writing. She’s currently pursuing an MA in Creative Writing at the University of Westminster in London and is committed to honing her fiction voice. 

I blame the dawn – T.L. Brennan 

T.L. Brennan is the author of several obscure poems and short stories, and is currently working on a novel. Brennan works in different art forms, moonlights as an academic, and perceives life as scored in B minor.

Nightfall of the Empire – Nagma Chowdhary 

Nagma has always been inspired by films when it comes to writing, and dark fiction is one of her specialities. Nagma has always been inspired by occult culture and will be providing great publications in the coming years (she’s manifesting). 

Under the Sulfur Sky – Brigid Cooley 

Brigid Cooley (she/her) is a poet, journalist, and storyteller dedicated to highlighting the stories of others, while also carving out a space to share her own experiences. Her debut collection of poems, “family recipes,” was published by Kelsay Books in 2023. 

Late Night Confessions – Daniel Ray Cuhen

Danny is a London-based writer and artist. He holds a BFA in Design from Parsons The New School and studied documentary filmmaking at New York Film Academy. He is currently pursuing his MA in Creative Writing at the University of Westminster. 

Rituals – Mya Guardino 

Mya is a fiction writer with a BA in Film and Literature from Howard University. Formerly based in New York, Mya now calls London home, where she’s pursuing an MA in Creative Writing at the University of Westminster. 

The Night Cafe – Dominique Haussmann Gutiérrez

Dominique Haussmann Gutiérrez is pursuing her MFA in Voice Studies in London. Originally from Chile, she studied English Literature and Linguistics, which acquainted her with the more technical side of poetry. Sonnets are her favourite poetic form.

Night – Rebecca Harding 

Rebecca Harding works in China as an English teacher and spends her free time pursuing her two passions − writing and travelling. She loves seeing words come together to create a life of their own, and sharing their magic with the world. 

London Skies Aren’t That Different – Eleni Karelis 

Eleni is a poet from Kentucky who grew up fascinated with the tradition of Appalachian storytelling. She’s interested in the intersection of nature and the human body, and the social power poetry can hold. She received her BA in English at the University of Kentucky and is currently pursuing her MA in Creative Writing at the University of Westminster.

Solitary Confinement – Nadja Lima  

Nadja Lima is a Portuguese-Angolan writer and recent graduate of City, University of London. They first received a Comparative Studies degree at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Lisbon before moving to London to pursue an MA in Creative Writing. 

Just Before It Gets Dark – Darcy Morgan 

Darcy is currently studying at the University of Westminster for her MA degree in Creative Writing. She is a Westminster graduate and holds a BA degree in Creative Writing with English Literature. 

The Sun Burned My Fears – Alina Marciana Pustai  

Alina is a Creative Writing MA student with a passion for words, beauty, and life in general. She loves creativity and likes to discover it in all its shapes and forms. 

I Might Drown Myself – Shelby Rodger 

Shelby (she/her) is an American writer now based in London. She holds a BFA degree in film from Syracuse University. She’s experienced in nonfiction writing and arts journalism, but currently enjoys experimenting with fiction and poetry. You can keep up with her work on Instagram at @filmsbyshelby.

A Medical Genius By Night – Dr. ljeoma Ugwu 

Dr. Ijeoma Ugwu is a passionate medical doctor with a love for both medicine and writing. She aims to educate and inspire readers to prioritise their health and well being. 

Tormented Nights – Safia Wright 

Safia is an undergraduate student at Bath Spa University with a passion for poetry and prose − more specifically, the active puzzle-making of words and sentences that cohere the nuances of the human condition.
